Reduces Irritation:

Adhesive fumes can be highly irritating, causing discomfort to both lash artists and their clients during and even after a lash extension application. Traditional lash adhesives emit fumes that can cause eye irritation, burning sensations, and watery eyes.

Preparation:

1. Ensure Adhesive is Set: Before applying the bonder, make sure the lash adhesive has had enough time to set but not fully cure. This timing can vary depending on the adhesive brand, but usually, it’s when the lashes are no longer tacky to the touch but not completely dry.

2. Select the Right Microbrush: Choose a microbrush that’s small enough to navigate between the lashes but not so small that it takes forever to apply the bonder. Typically, a fine-tipped microbrush works well.

3. Prepare the Bonder: Ensure your lash bonder is ready for use. If it comes in a dropper bottle, make sure you can control the drop size to avoid waste.

Application Process:

1. Dispense the Bonder: Place a small drop of bonder onto a clean, disposable surface (like a jade stone or a microfiber pad) to avoid contamination.

2. Dip the Microbrush: Gently dip the tip of the microbrush into the bonder. You only need a minimal amount; excess can lead to sticky residue or clumping.

3. Apply to Lash Extensions:

  • Technique: With a steady hand, lightly touch the tip of the microbrush to the base of the lash extensions where they meet the natural lash. This is where the bond needs to be strongest.

Post-Application:

  • Fanning: After applying the bonder, you might want to use a mini fan to help with curing and to dissipate any remaining fumes.
  • Client Care Instructions: Remind the client not to get their lashes wet or expose them to steam for a certain period, usually 24-48 hours, to allow the bond to fully stabilize.
